A Reunion Day: A Great day!
We started the day with the most important things, which was prayer. Judeson oversaw doing the devotion. After the devotion, breakfast was served. We rushed into the cultural activities, the atmosphere was lively and warm, the children learned a lot of things and they made beautiful drawings.
We had a guest, Jerry Moreau, who was the master of ceremonies, he also asked questions and hadthe kids spell words, and repeat bible verses they had learned. Each of us had tedious task to accomplish. Mr. Sonido was responsible for coming with the children and taking them back on the bus. Mr. Valcourt makes trips to fill the gaps of the stuff that we needed. Charlensky was always checking on all of us to see if anything was missing and was going to get all the different things that we or the kids needed. Judeson and Sorayah were there to welcome the children, help past things out and to look over the children. We had a list of things to do, and we took turns doing them.
We gave gift to the children that did well in school. We had recreational and cultural activities such as hook macrame and the little one made drawings and paintings. The children then played in the yard, there was football, there was Frisbee, the children had a great time.
The recreational day was an excellent day thanks to our team spirit, despite the difficulties encountered the day before as our car broke down and afterwards, we only had one car to go back and forth. We were able to overcome them with flying colors. We were blessed as we had help from many other people who are not part of YES! but where there to volunteer to help make the day great.
In conclusion, the children had a great time, we saw life in this day that has not been there for a long time. To tell the truth we gave our all to make this day a success.
Thank you to all of you that helped us to host this event. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Blessings, The YES! staff (Mr. Valcourt, Mr. Sonido, Charlensky, Judeson, and Sorayah)
